The Heart of the Reef

I have been raving about the Whitsundays islands for a while now, so I do owe you a post on it!

As I said before, this was my Christmas holiday destination. I was counting the days since last April and man... It was so worth it!

The Whitsundays islands are a group of 74 islands located off the Central Coast of Queensland, Australia. It is a very very famous touristy destination. And I do think every single Australian here should visit those islands before even thinking of going "overseas" as they like to say.

It was just amazing. We flew to Hamilton Island, maybe the busiest Island of all but so beautiful... Loads of snorkeling, paddle boarding, swimming, eating, relaxing. Did a seaplane tour over the Great Barrier Reef, spend time on Whitehaven beach. We also went sailing for two days on a former racing boat and visited Airlie Beach. It can't be a very expensive place though. Even if most of the water activities are free (check with your hotel) accomodations, food, tours, etc... can be very expensive. Bare it in mind.

Anyway, didn't have a second to get bored and as you can imagine, and was very sad to leave this beautiful place. Here are some pictures, you will understand what I mean.
